Ultimate travel guitars
17/5/2012

Quaystone Music has been busy thus far in 2012 updating our videos for a closer look at the Lap axe travel guitar. Our goal is to provide as much information as possible to our customers on our products to instill confidence in online purchasing. As guitarists, we are also aware of the sometimes uneasy feeling of purchasing an instrument without the opportunity to first play or try it out. This is why we are focussing on good communication with potential clients and exsisting customers to ensure that they are completely satisfied with their Lap axe travel guitar purchase. The articles page and media room will be continually updated. Also new testimonials from our customers are regularily updated.

Updated on 23rd of October.

October 11th Shanghai, China Music Fair.
We visited the music fair in China and found it very interresting (but rather noisy). Pepijn has attended the last four years and has found a continuous growth in the number of participants as well as the attendees.

Although some of the usual exhibitors were missing, there were some new interesting companies filling in the spaces .
This is a great fair for sourcing and meeting clients and as Shanghai is one of the best cities in the world to entertain these clients,  It's well worth the effort to spend some extra time and make the most of your  visit.
We sourced many new accessories which in due time will be added to our present assortment.
An unconfirmed video recording meeting set with Mike Stern was eventually sorted out. As Stern has a busy touring schedule, it is often difficult to reach him, or for him to find time to meet with us.
Unsure if the session would happen, Pepijn left Singapore with 2 Lap axe™, travel guitars, an HD video camera and a Pandora PX4D, the bare essentials, just in case a session with Mike Stern could be fit into his busy schedule.
We finally agreed to an early video recording  on Thursday morning at his hotel room. Mike played for 2 hours on our Lap axe™ over different grooves and in different styles and later he gave his verdict on the new Lap axe™ travel guitar.
The results and his feedback were extremely positive, and after some wrestling from Bill with the footage and the sound back in Singapore, he managed to write and add backing tracks to the video’s.
2 clips have been uploaded so far and soon another 2 or 3 clips will be uploaded. You can check out Mike's playing and comments on  Lap axe™ at

That same  evening, Mike performed at the JZ club where we invited our Japanese importer, suppliers and friends to the show.
Great show !! Great time!!. You can find some photos of that evening in our "friends and players" gallery.

 26th of October
We hosted a guitar competition at the Se7en Inch rock club at  Clarke Quay in Singapore. Another great event and  we look forward to holding more of these type of events.

1st of November 2011
Our first Lap axe™ with maple fingerboards will be available online, as well as several new Lap axe™ custom made instruments with wood inlays and different tone wood fingerboards, such as Purple Hearth, Cocobolo, Bogote and Leapard wood, as well as some bodies in Gambelina, iin addition to our exsisting ones constructed  with Mahogany.
A proto type of a hollow body Lap axe™ with solid maple top will be tested in November in our sound lab in Singapore and we are very excited in anticipation of the results.

Keep your eyes (and ears) peeled on our gallery for these exciting new travel guitars coming online soon.

Regards,
Your Friends at Lap axe
